Drove to Austria. Stopped over in Saarland in the roof tent, now in a lodge just south of Innsbruck.
Faultless trip, lots of other defenders on the road but I need cruise control! Ian |

Lowered and fitted a new universal drop plate to my rear X member as i have recently fitted a + 2" lift kit aswell as repainted the rear X member and tow bar ready for fitting an extra tow ball, the idea is when i go off roading i can remove the new drop plate complete with new towball but still have the old tow ball ( raised ) and used as a recovery point for if 90 gets stuck or recover someone else Graham

Rear shocks taken off again, and top mount to chassis shocker mounts too, all to be replaced.
Not difficult but time consuming. New stuff going on to,orrow hopefully. |

Friday, took it to AJS tyres where they took it for MOT and replaced all four shocks and rings. Massive difference in ride.
Saturday, took it to the shoot and had a trip round looking at the cover crops. Sunday, paid the Road Fund Licence! Click image to enlarge Defender Td5 XS90 |

Getting ready to take the back off the double cab again for some adjustments before it goes on for the final time to stay.
While its off Ill also convert the swing away tailgate back to a drop down as prefer it that way and give somewhere to sit |

Looks Good Ronin I had a similar problem which was cured the same way! I had the usual commute from home to work to home again but slowly getting quieter the more sound proofing I add. Looking forward to moving onto the bulkhead but still researching and weighing up options on what to use or how to do it. Tomorrows job is making up some new bonnet bushes to try and prevent my bonnet rattling again Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Mmmm,
Much like the Defender, Sir Paul is a bit of an icon. Did some interesting things with some Triumph Bonnevilles a few years back, which I liked. Not sure about this though, does look a little like a breakers yard botch-job. Ho hum, at least it's for him and not a Special Ed for sale. Be interesting to see it in the flesh though.... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Following on from above, new top mount brackets on, and shocks etc all set and ready to go. Hopefully for more than a few months now. |
