Oil Pump Recall for the Puma TDCi 2.2L EU5 - can anyone help
Does anyone know more about the oil pump recall for Ford TDCi 2.2L EU5 engines? Sad

http://fordtransit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=149119

What about Land Rover? Has anyone asked for information on this issue? Confused

Please excuse me pulling this topic up again. Maybe itīs been discussed many times, but then that without my notice (another project captures my focus at the moment).

I was so curious about the replies. Now that there arenīt any, does it mean there was no single incident ?

At work we have 5 x transits, 13 plate ones in at the same garage awaiting for this issue to be sorted.

As above..

We run a fleet including hundreds of them, no actual recall, just a TSB ... Will rectify if fails while within warranty period.

We've had dozens go bang lol, only In transits though, Never had a Landrover or Citreon one fail ... Confused Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

"Never had a Landrover or Citreon one fail"

But Censored happens with Defender 2.2 oil pumps anyway:

It is a recall. Owners should be receiving letters within 5 days. We are currently ordering oil pumps and related items by chassis number via our main dealer. Cheaper to change the pump than the possibility of X amount of engines, given the amount that have already failed. All 2.2s built between Sept 2011 and 31st December 2012 are on the recall - that's 15 months of engines.

Guys, what would your recommendation be for someone who owns a 2.2 built between those dates? As such an owner, I have had no recall notice but intend to contact the dealer in order to enquire. Is the replacement of different design? And if so would you recommend replacement regardless ? Cheaper than an engine out of warranty. Thanks

Sorry, Kris. I did not receive any.
What are you talking about exactly? DEFENDERS? TRANSITS?
A recall for TRANSITS will not help anyone here in this forum.

But, a statement from Land Rover with respect to this recall from Ford would be appreciated.

THERE IS NO LAND ROVER RECALL, FULL STOP.

Let's just get that clear!! There may well be one for Ford's, but nothing for Land Rovers. An engine to TDi for!

What do you mean by this statement?

The new recall 4S616 says Ford are providing a revised oil pump for all MY2012 engines. They acknowledge a failure risk.
FORD TDCI 2.2 / LAND ROVER DEFENDER TDCI 2.2 engines and oil pumps are essentially identical.

While oil pump failures are increasing, FORD are taking this issue more and more serious.
I must therefore admit that FORD are providing good customer care.

GUM97, are you happy that there's 'nothing for LAND ROVERS' ?

Best, Julia
