Used it as a tractor in the true spirit of '48.

The actual tractor refused to start after its winter holiday so the chain harrow had to hitched to the 110. More comfortable (and quieter!!!!) than a 1973 Kubota and with a radio, lost a bit on the turning circle though.

I didn't draw a picture of a Defender tho'. (only 'cos someone already did it! Very Happy )

Filled it to the the gunnels - and then some - with cycling stuff to take to a jumble. Every year we do a cycling jumble and later on an Open Garden in aid of charity - this year in aid of the British Heart Foundation. So a 110 full of assorted cycling stuff went one way - and a slightly less full 110 came back...

Nice sunny afternoon remained, so fitted an extended difflock/high-low lever that nicely complements the Ashcroft auto console by making the lever easier to get at.

Then washed it.

And polished it.

And treated all the plastic bits.

And ACF-50'd bits.

And Dinitrolled a few more bits.

And did the weekly checkover.

And sat down had had tea and scones for a rest...

...then removed the worn-out Dixon Bate Shocklink and cleaned up the hitch/pin ready to fit to the new Shocklink when it arrives later in the week.

Then collapsed with a nice Staffordshire Brewery Ruby Bitter... Thud Dave

I need another beer Rolling with laughter

The Ashcroft auto console is very nice indeed - top quality stuff.

I've adapted mine a bit - which given the cost is definitely a case of measure thrice, hesitate, measure it again, and then leave it until tomorrow... Rolling Eyes

I had to trim the back to make room for the rear seats to fold in the 110. That still didn't give enough room, so I adapted the rear seat mountings so I can pop the 60% part out of its pivots. Works okay, but it's a bit of a faff.

I then got Matt at FCX to make me a nice armrest - which is absolutely lovely - and I topped it off with some Disco II cup holders. Those made getting at the difflock/high-low lever a bit of a reach, so the 2" extended lever solves that problem nicely. Dave

Changed the wheel nuts. The dealer I bought the car from (Land Rover main dealer!) had changed over the old alloys which were pretty tired for black steelies, but had used the used the alloy-style wheel nuts. Having done a bit of internet-research I don't think this would have been dangerous as the alloy nuts still have the tapered end to seat the wheel correctly, but it did look a bit odd. So it's on with a set of plain steel nuts... which will no doubt drive me mad by rusting! Whistle

Also gave the car a good wash, and tried to track down why I am getting a damp passenger footwell carpet - haven't sorted that out yet... Rolling Eyes

It's possibly just the light making it look clean. Just a Jet Wash, Turtle Wax with a soft caravan brush. Then sponge in the more difficult parts, Jet Washed again then cloth dried twice. Craig Rogers
