I didn't use a fog light switch, but here is a 2 way diagram that did when I put mine in. Rocker switch on dash and rocker switch inside rear door. If you are just using one switch, you can just imagine the diagram without the 2nd switch and all is the same. I mounted the relay behind the rear right speaker panel where the "Purple" and "Black" wires can be found providing permanent live.

However, if you are using a standard Fog Light switch, I believe these are the pin-outs for the switch;

(The switch connects the earth feed, hence 2 Earth connections)

Pin 1: Earth (incoming) from relay (Pin 85 on the above diagram)
Pin 2: Bulb (Dash lights) - connect into feed of dash lights from the other switches.
Pin 3: Earth (outgoing) connect to a ground point
Pin 4: Not used.
Pin 5: "On" light - This is the same as the Dash Warning light shown on the diagram.

Ok, so if I understand correctly it would be something like this:

As far as I'm aware, that's spot on! Thumbs Up

If I've got the pin outs on the switch wrong, it won't damage anything, but might be a case of trial and error. However, I'm 95% certain I've got it right

EDIT: I can't remember if the standard Rear Fog Light switch is a clicky one or momentary switch? If it isn't a clicky one, then you can't use it for the rear light.......... Craig Rogers

CAN'T BE DONE!!!!!!

I just went and checked (you can tell how often I used my rear fog light).

The switch is indeed a momentary switch which means it doesn't control the fog light, it will be controlled elsewhere, probably by the ECU depending on headlight conditions.

What this means is if you use it to control your work light it will only work if you held down the button, when you release the button the light will go back out as it doesn't click into place. Craig Rogers

^^ Good idea! Thumbs Up

Suspect the pin outs will probably be similar too. Craig Rogers

Yep that's what I did. I used a heated rear window switch, and swapped front.

Heated seat switch is:

1 +ve IN
2 Illumination
3 not connected
4 +ve OUT
5 Earth

The LED is connected internally across +ve out and earth so it illuminates itself Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Thumbs Up It seems like it's the same then as the switch will probably work as an earth switch too.

Pins 3 & 4 probably do the same, I know on the fog light switch that Pin 4 works the same as Pin 3 even though it's not used.

The only thing is, will the LED still light? Craig Rogers

Note that the heated seat and rear heated screen switches are positive side switching, to illuminate their own internal status LED.

This would require a change to the wiring diagrams.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
