Yes, I have fitted a few new engine ecus and sensors for the same fault, but of course Landrover being Landrover will extinguish every other possibility before even contemplating a PCM fault which sometimes causes delay in the repair I think which does not help.
Providing they have done the correct checks on the sensor its self OR swapped it from another car to yours as a test AND checked the wiring back to the ecu and all is ok then id strongly suspect a failed PCM. Note the MIL activation is only after 3 cycles and so they do need to start and stop the engine a few times, re read the dtc's and seeif the fault is backor not irespective of if the mil in lit at that point or not. They seem not to have done the latter and that will explain why the mil came back on when you took the car away. Pete |

No problem.
Im sure they will get their in the end and it may not turn out to be the pcm afterall but time will tell I suppose. Pete |

Sounds like our vehicles are having the same problems.
Bowlers have fixed it but after your comments above I've asked them to go on an extended drive to see if the Light stays off. This is happening tomorrow so I'll report back with the results. Cheers Leon |

I'm having the same issues. I reported a fault within 2 weeks of ownership. Been in 3 times for other bits and I kept reporting the same fault. Only to be told everytime they couldn't replicate my symptoms.
Well it went in today for issues with the central locking and alarm. Reported the problem again. Call today to say car is ready for collection. But we need to order parts for the central locking and some other bits. Your original problem has been identified and we need a working week to fix it. So it's booked back in next month. If only they'd of listened to me 12 months ago. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

I see their logic..... if you didn't have the scanguage, you wouldn't know about the error codes, thus, fault of the scanguage

Shame the sensor didn't fix it
Is seems one of those faults that can in some cases be quite hard to replicate as the problem is not always seen/happens in every engine cycle which does not help especially when the garage is trying to fmd a cure or fix. Pete. |
