I have found that defenders can leak or not depending on whether they are leaning to one side or the other.
Is it possible that your drive or where ever it leaks is on a slope and the LR test is on the flat or vice versa? |

My drive is as flat as a witches tit! The idea of the rig they use is to force water in at various angles. No sure whether they angle the vehicle when testing, burnt doubt it!

If the screen has been out I'd take it to auto windscreens or someone similar and just get them to take it out again and re-seal then it might get done properly.

Mines in at the moment for the same leaks, although out of warranty LR are willing to cover 80% of the bill as a good will gesture so we will see.......if all is cured.. Steve

MK1collector is bang on the nail. If when the screen came out it wasn't resealed correctly especially if they didn't replace the seal with the old sealant on, pound to a pinch that'll be where your problem lies. Also with a heated screen when I had the same issues it can be hard to get them to willingly take the screen out as with a heated one there is a risk of damage each time it is removed and refitted to the element. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Its TH White in Wooten Bassett. Just collected the truck and was told that LR only authorise 3 hrs labour to find a leak thereafter its dealers discretion. Mine has had 9 hrs of attention. Think I am going to get in touch with LR Customer Services.

I prefer face to face and in it's absence a phone call. If I get no joy I will try Ryan.

Mine went back 4 times, a total of 6 weeks, and each time it was given back to me supposedly sorted it leaked worse. It cost me far too much time pi55ing about back and forth and in the end I got Autoglass to come and replace a chipped windscreen. Turned out the Autoglass guy was a Defender enthusiast who knew exactly where and how to sort it. No problem since, until it went in for final warranty work on corrosion and then it started leaking again. Turned out they had taken the windscreen out and because they cracked it in doing so had to replace it.
Im not saying all do as there are some good ones(a rarity though), but a lot of the problems are caused by the dealers and their bodyshops trying to cut corners/not knowing what they are doing/rushing/etc.... |
