Fitting interior light into back of 110 Hard Top

I've got a 110 van and could do with a light in the back to help see what I'm doing in there. Is there a genuine Land Rover option for this, or is it something that has to be sorted with aftermarket parts? Its absence wasn't something I was aware of when I bought it last year.

I've had a search and didn't see anything (sorry if I've missed it), so any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Loire Blue

I had two led strips fitted (one on each side) to the rear of my hardtop by Ian at IRB which probably means they came from Tim at Mobilecentre.

They're about 500 long and give a terrific amount of light. Highly recommended. 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop
Now a 2013 110 USW too.

Does your rear door have a switch or anything to turn a light on when it opens? Mine doesn't, but then the rear door is a bit battered.

I bought a roll of LED strip lights off eBay and used it either side in the rear of my 90. It's brilliant compared to the glow worm standard light.

Self adhesive too, so easy to fit.

Yes, mine's connected to the plunger door switch so it operates when the door opens/closes.

The plunger switch fits to a bracket on the hinge side of the door that you probably do have, and the switch itself is only a few quid. 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop
Now a 2013 110 USW too.

Joe I fit one of these to the back of the Hard top...draws low current...find it great.

I just wired it up to the purple wire behind the rear light panel, which means its always live, good light out of it too.

Dredging up my ancient topic, I've finally just bought one of these (no point in rushing these things...) :-

It's the same one as Mud UK sell, but was nine quid less, delivered, and like Mud UK, H. Bowers are another great firm to deal with (they supplied the diesel heater kit for our narrow boat) and delivered it in two days, in spite of it being Christmas.

All I've got to do now is actually fit it. The purple wire to my rear door switch looks a good bet for the live feed, but my bodywork is not making a good enough earth connection (the light is very dim using it) so I think I'll need to run an earth wire to it from somewhere else (any suggestions most welcome, incidentally).

in the back of my USW along the top trim next to the headlining, ran them off a switch above the speaker inside the door on the RHS. took the feed from the purple perm live there. Cheers

Just to bring this up to date, I fitted the new lamp over Christmas, eventually joining into the two wires that go to the plug on my front interior lamp to feed it. It wasn't too difficult once I'd managed to run the wires to it above the headlining in the cab.

I have to say the result is absolutely fantastic. It's like daylight in the back now with it switched on.
