Ultraguage arrived today so I set about finding a semi-permanent home for it. Very happy with what I came up with in the end (nothing groundbreaking lol, but fairly tidy I think)
Bracket is attached to the glass/plastic of the gauge binnacle thingy, fits nicely in the gap in the middle between guages. Click image to enlarge The OBD cable tucks behind the bit of plastic trim (comes off with two screws) and then down the steering column and it drops into the fuse box underneath. Click image to enlarge You have to pop the OBD socket out of its holder to allow it to clear the door to the fuse box but no problem really, you can't lose it. This is what it looks like from the driver's seat. Nothing obscured and buttons still accessible, nicely visible through the wheel. The display even adjusts brightness with ambient so you're not blinded at night. Really happy! Good job David...
Precisely what I did with mine, not being confident enough to go the whole hog and fit it into the gauge panel like some... I also ended up buying a double OBD splitter so workshops can still attach their diagnostics tools without disconnecting the UG... Although I haven't found one that will slot into the original slot for the OBD connector on the fuse panel... Rog... The GREEN One... yep i bought mine direct from them in the US, but it arrived in 2 days so i wonder if they have some already in the UK? Theyre not that expensive at all! around Ł50 and considering they also can read/clear trouble codes thats great value in my mind! a fault code reader is usually more than Ł50...
Yeah i would ideally have fitted it inside but it really doesn't bother me. From where you're sitting its great and it may also come in handy that its not built in if i ever need to plug it into another car or do anything else around that area. Also i wouldn't be anywhere near capable of doing the modifications required! But really happy Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

the ultra gauge can show MPG both instantaneous and average or trip, as well as hundreds of other parameters. (see here- http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/)
none of those are particularly 'outside temp' though I'm afraid. It can display intake temperature but thats obviously a bit warmer than real outside temperature id guess Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

yes, very easy. just plug into your jobs and you're away.
The control is via 3 buttons on the back which are easy to use & the menu system is very well layed out. After you've set it up the first time it doesn't really need any thing else doing unless you want to clear a code or change layout etc. It just starts up to the first page when you switch on the engine. Very impressed! lots of videos of youtube id guess to which will give you an idea. if you go to the support page here: http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/support/support.htm click 'gauge availability estimator' and input your car then it tells you what parameters it can read for the specific vehicle. Yes purchased from their website. Just the standard Ultragauge EM v1.2 is what you need. The others are for more specific applications I think. Cheers, David

No problems at all, any questions just ask- but it's very easy really. Their website 'support' section is good too Cheers, David
