On the switch pins -
Pin 1 - From heated front screen timer (terminal 5) Pin 2 - Dash illumination live Pin 3 - Not used Pin 4 - Earth Pin 5 - Live from heated front screen relay (terminal 87) - to illuminate switch's tell-tale LED It's a momentary switch, which switches terminal 5 of the heated front screen timer to earth. This starts the timer's timed period. This diagram is for the 2002 TD5 Defender - but, the circuit is the same as the Tdci Defender - Click image to enlarge . That diagram shows a switch that's been internally modified to be a live-switching switch. It's shown being used with an after-market timer relay, which requires a live pulse to start its timed period. The switch pinouts detailed below the diagram, are for the un-modified switch, used with the OE timer relay (PRC6796) . Guys,
Well I am confused! I spent the day finishing this off and I can't get it to work. I know I've got the high current relay in properly. I'm using OE PRC6796 and an OE switch any clues please?
