Here's my offering, what you can't see is that my trailer ended up bellying out and stuck me in this predicament.

Whilst I was not the owner of this vehicle (it was HM Government) I was the vehicle commander on this day during the Holy Cross riots in Belfast of 2001. An interesting moment that was resolved by the ever able driver, LSgt Stanton, sticking it into reverse and gunning it. Sadly for some of the rioters in the photo, they will have returned to their cars parked down the street to find wing mirrors, wings and doors taken off and scattered across the street. But as we all know, it is hard enough to reverse a normal Defender in perfect conditions, let alone a 3.5t 'Snatch' variant, batoned-down and going as fast as a V8 will allow. Ho hum, good times. Very Happy

True Brit and master of understatement .... "in a spot of bother"

Somehow I think an American would describe those hostile natives in a more emotionally charged vocabulary.

I doubt anyone posting a few pics of a Defender stuck in a bit of goo on a wet Saturday afternoon is going to top you.

I have never had any serious issues with my Defender, but my IIA 1-Ton can prove interesting off-road!

That's a severe case of "farmers wing" you've got there. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Having 'farmer's wing' is IMHO the ultimate scuff. The greatest patina a Defender can have.

I would love one. Nothing else says "this is used to the max". Perhaps there's a market for pre farmered farmer's wings. I wonder how much I one in Java black would be! Laughing

As for a spot of bother, ours is in dock for the second time in as many months. Effing high pressure fuel pump gone for good.
