My money would be on the 10AS. Water corrodes the terminals, causes many issues. Unplug it, clean/wipe off the connectors with WD40 and see if it helps ....... Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Thanks Dave-H and bpman!
It's not rained today and there's no problem with starting or running. There is plenty of water leaking in behind the dash so I obviously need to sort that and waterproof the 10AS unit... Is there any issue with unplugging the unit and then reconnecting it? |

Not normally, Just leave the ignition switch alone [and OFF] just in case Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.
