Guys
Just managed to lay my hands on a new roof lining for a 90. Does anyone have a guide on how to fit it, and what additional items I would need to fit it to a hard top. I recently fitted the missing rear section of headlining to my base spec hard top.
And found the LRM defender 110 headlining articles on following webpage useful as a general guide before tackling the job. http://www.lasalle-trim.co.uk/media Hope this helps |

Many thanks for the links, they will be very useful when fitting the new linings. Do you know if I need any more brackets, also the number of fir trees clips required. A great idea from someone on here(sorry, can't remember who) is to use a camera tripod to hold the lining in position whilst you do the final fixings.

Knot-yet, When you fitted the rear lining to your hard top what did you do about fitting the rear piece that goes over the door? On a SW there are metal brackets spot welded to the roof to push the fir tree clips into, obviously these are omitted on the HT roof. At the moment the rear over-door piece on mine is just held in by the two grab handles and I pushed the fir trees into the section just to hide the holes. I'm still scratching my head over that one. The best I can come up with so far is to make up the necessary bracket from a piece of aluminium and bond it with something like sikaflex adhesive.
At the moment the bit over the door is not fitted. |

When i did this I made 2 brackets up and riveted them in place. Also I used Sikkaflex to set the sockets for the 2 grab handles in place.

Guys
After about a year I managed to get the time to cut in the alpine roof lights and fit the roof . Interestingly only 2 out of 6 holes lined up so I will need to drill the other holes. However, one thing I found is that the fir trees don't seem long enough to hold. Can anyone tell me if there are longer ones to go through both roof liners?
