Thanks Wayne, I cannot believe as explained how different the colour is in both the photo and the swatches.
It is in fact pretty close to what is depicted as the slightly lighter shade in the middle here:- If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Work in progress......
Collected the last two from the powdercoaters and wrapped them up. Just need to wait a while until my current tyres are shot then fit these and then get the other set eventually refurbished. Matus,
Unfortunately they're not made any more, Matt Lee who used to make them was pushed out by cheap copies such as the Challenger Wheel. Lambley, Not quite there yet as need to wear out my existing tyres first. Nevertheless there are excellent reports on this thread from people who have used them and it is still my intention to do so. Cheers K9
I'm moving to Devon soon so I'll lose the use of a tyre machine at my mates garage so I'm tempted to fit some beads, my Zu's with Duratrac's look like they'll need regular balancing. I'd rather do a 'fit and forget' Cheers |

Well, I've fitted some beads, 150g bag to each wheel and so far they are very good, no problems to report, seem balanced at all speeds.
I removed all the old weights around the rims (and there were a fair amount), popped the tyre from the rim and dropped in the beads, re-inflated and went for a drive. I gather that now they have found where they are supposed to go to find their balance, they will remain in place, so there is no movement every time I stop, so until they are dislodged they will remain in situ. Came next day from Devon 4x4. So far so good. |

sure the beads move each time you stop , roll/fall to bottom then spin out to balance again once moving

From what I've been told some stick, some don't. They just find their place again when moving, if you want to rebalance and move them, say if you get a clump of mud or stones sticking to the tyre which will obviously affect the balance, then just give them a boot and they will drop to the bottom again. You don't notice them moving, there is no obvious 'unbalance' until you reach a certain speed. I've only done a few short journeys so far so I'm still trying them out.

Im thinking of going down this route with my wheels that arent currently fitted as the weights dont seem to stick the satin rims. Can you tell me if there is any noise from them? Also the only thing im concerned about is ruin the rim on the inside like bead blasting, are they lead with a plastic coating? Thanks and sorry for the slight hijack, just ive got 305 muds on these sound ideal. Defender puma dormobile camper |

Hi Tom, there seems to be no noise from the beads, I could hear them moving when I rolled them to the car after putting them in, but because they are so tiny they don't make a noise, I certainly can't hear anything when I'm in the vehicle.
They won't affect the inside of the rims at all, they are ceramic, very small kind of hard plastic, maybe only just over 1mm in diameter, all I can suggest is give them a go, maybe talk to Devon 4x4, they advised me on which size and weight would be suitable. I had between 60g and 100g of stick on weights per wheel before, now there is nothing, just nice and clean. |

Read the link I put up for Munch most questions are answered therein. None of the beads will stick that is the whole concept of dynamic balancing. Each and every time the beads will naturally take position where they are needed to maintain the dynamic balancing of the tyre and wheel combination for the duration the tyre remains fitted.
