I think all you need are the plips and a nanocom to program them and to enable the immobiliser.
I would expect there are people on here with more information on the process, but it's also worth googling - the alarm module is the AS10, which may help your search. |

Insewerance approved, aftermarket immobilisers ain't that expensive, you see a fair few issues with LR's offering. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Thanks guys, some good ideas there..
![]() I might have to think about investing in a Nanocom if it costs that much for a dealer to change the ECU settings. |

These are the fobs you want : http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm?itemId=121438136209
2 of those are £40 - so £60 for setting it all up and supplying a pair of fobs isn't too bad. Certainly a long way short of the price of a Nanocom (though they are great pieces of kit). |

IIRC you also need something bizzarely called an "Exciter Ring"

Nothing needed apart from fobs mate , the only things you won't have and what I added at a later date 1 back door needs a switch ( depending on spec it might have one mine didn't but I put a light in as well ) 2 bonnet switch 3 movement senser . Like I say I just got the bits from eBay and added them later the wires are already there so easy

As others said, forget the standard one as it seems too easy to bypass. Get an aftermarket system fitted for similar money. Andy

Seeing as it is so easy to bypass the factory immobiliser with Nanocom or similar; maybe it would be worth either re-locating the OBDII socket or cutting it off and using a different style of plug so only you could access the OBDII port with the corresponding other half of the lead and OBDII plug?
Not completely foolproof but would stop an opportunist. Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Many thanks
![]() I’ve got a couple of plippers now so I’m going to find somewhere nearby to switch on the standard immobiliser. I’m also going to get a pedal lock and maybe a battery immobiliser with a removable key. Cheers Dave |

There's a exciter ring (black plastic thing with a 2 pin econoseal plug like on the lights) fitted around the lock barrel, probably already fitted you could check by removing the column shroud. Base spec will have the 270 10 AS box which won't do electric windows or central locking though.

Thanks Nick, I'll have a look at the weekend
![]() I'm not too worried about the other stuff, the more basic the better (less to go wrong)! Dave |
