Intermittent indicators
Really frustrating indicator problem where the indicator stays on every so often instead of flashing.

is it just shy?, or is the problem switch or bulb related usually? 2 LandRovers, and counting!

Relay would be my first port of call. Switch only likely if it wasn't cancelling looking at the diagram. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

My MY12 Has done this twice in the last 6 months. Thought it was just me! No idea why so I'd also be interested to hear any suggestions. It's surprisingly tricky to simulate the flash when it happens by waggling the indicator stalk at even intervals...

Both times they started to behave again immediately after switching the engine off and re-starting it. Not such an easy solution if you only realise they're not working as you indicate to join the main carriageway of a motorway! I was hypothesising that it might be related to the immobiliser/alarm.

It's not done it to me in about 6 months now.

I mentioned it to the dealer at the last service but they misunderstood and the technician apparently thought I was talking about the self-cancelling mechanism so didn't do anything about it. Didn't have the energy to take it in again to take another look.

My td5 did this, turned out to be the corrosion in the connector block for the towing electrics from the main loom. Off side rear arch Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Mine did this, or at least the RHS indicators did, and it turned out to be due to water getting in behind the dash (probably from the roof, which was unexpected).

Who'd have thought it from a Defender...
