Tell them to do one. Your car has an issue it should be fixed free of charge. simples. The dealer should be able to diagnose a clutch issue. The problem will be with the coil springs in the clutch drive plate. 130's have feeling's as well you know

Willie
Have a look at the post 'Clutch death rattle again' - it is a known problem - I am going for clutch number three, probably four once they can find out why number three does not work. Bob |

Willie, I ran a Sept 07 CSW and had similar transmission problems. I expect the clutch could be causing your woes. The leaf springs weaken and snap on the original clutch causing the jolt on the transmission you describe. My clutch was changed under warranty in Feb of this year to the new spec unit. The old one had done 26K. The Stealer should sort it for you as it is a known issue.
NB. Some clonking, especially in low gears is normal on a Defender as there is no viscous coupling to take up the slack in the transmission. Also, check the handbrake is correctly adjusted as this can cause transmission clunks on slow speed gear changes. Just remember that if you report all the problems before the warranty is up they still have to fix it even if you tell them the day before.
It could be a good idea to have an end of warranty check/service to see tif there is anything else that might need fixing. |

That`s right. I wrote an extense email to my stealer listing all my concerns, including previous non-fixed issues, and after a couple of days I had a new clutch, gearbox and transferB. After that I wrote another email regarding the quality of v2 clutch plate (there is a faulty batch of those delivered by LR all over) in order they are aware in case it snaps very soon. Emails have a legal value. Puma 110" SW
