Dunno about the wires ... my mechanic (hubby!) fitted it!

(IIRC, the silly money Entreq one was silly money because it was only FM - if it had been DAB too it would have been a good price - Whistle Rolling Eyes ) Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

DABONWHEELS sell some very good, and very well received aerials. I bought mine from them, and it's worked pretty well since. DAB signal does get affected more by bad weather especially wind, which we have had a lot lately, but generally, the signal for me is fine. A proper good aerial is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Danridge do you fit the Autoleads DAB / FM splitter? I was looking at using this for my DAB radio and wondered if it was any good?

Thanx

I have the windscreen one, and it works fine for me. Two things to watch. That the black sticky pad makes good contact with metal of bodywork (to provide an earth) Also, the aerial requires power. Most DAB radios have an option to supply power via aerial socket to the aerial. Make sure this is enabled on the radio, or supply power to the aerial (believe it has it's own power lead)

Go for the windscreen one as Dale describes. I think mines just wasn't fitted 100% right (contacts on the metal). It did work till it slipped or came unstuck. When it worked it was good.
The DAB/FM splitter is pants Smile Its pennies but don't waste em. Get the windscreen one and fit it now when its dry and warm (not cold and damp when I did) Thumbs Up

Mine is fitted horizontally like the photo at the start of the thread. I put it at the top of the windscreen, in the middle so it's behind the rear view mirror. Hardly notice it's there. The black box is tight up against the windscreen rubber to ensure that the black sticky pad gets maximum contact with the bodywork. I had to loosen the roof lining so I could get under the front edge of it and stick the pad to the underside of the roof. It also meant I was able to route the wiring above the roof lining, then behind the A-post cover, and in behind the dash. I can take some pictures later when I get home if that helps?

Thank you Dale for the advice and offer of pictures.

How long is the aerial wire? I was wondering if it could be attached to the Alpine window and the run forward to the radio? Just a thought....

I went for a sharks fin combined DAB/FM aerial. Obviously can't put it at the back but with the roll cage and the dark paint on my 50th it blends in quite well.

On my Kenwood DNX4210DAB the DAB part has stopped. The on-screen menu won't let me turn on the antenna power, as it is greyed out. Any ideas why and what to do?
