TDCI Water Useage?
I have a 2011 2.4 TDCI with 44500 miles on the clock. When I bought her in January she had 41500 on. Long story short: in the 3000 miles I have covered in her she has used a an about a pint of coolant with no sign of any leaks.

Is this the sign of a head gasket going or is it normal? No contamination in coolant etc.

I don't know if it is relent, but when it was colder there was a little puff of blue smoke on cold starting. She has never used any oil since getting her though.

Under warranty till the end of Aug!

Any thoughts or experiences on the matter welcome.

Kevin.

Most likely it's the coolant cap, it only leaks under pressure.

Mine was also leaking coolant, and I replaced it on advice from the chaps here. There was no more topping up after that Thumbs Up

Replace it and monitor, it's cheap and you can replace it every year --

Probably coolant cap, I was losing coolant via the coolant cap when engine was being worked hard, with air conditioning running during the recent hot weather. I've had no further problems since replacing cap despite the hot weather . A £6 fix Smile
