Shame your 'recollection' isn't as good about the subject matter. Caterham, I've already seen the inside of your drum and the marks from the last time you took it apart 14 months ago. This is not fresh news. Why not continue one of the last two threads you started on exactly the same subject within a month of each other? http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic20629.html?highlight=drum http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic20534.html?highlight=drum If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

It is indeed see here: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic29779....surrection Munch you could have spent the day doing something proactive for yourself instead! I went to the beach with my two daughters......Same trap I used to fall into. Not any more without a search. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! It is indeed nice to help others.....especially when they need it....the thanks afterwards I find quite gratifying. Spending other people's money though.....that's even more gratifying I find. I'm none the wiser......took thing apart and back together again.....trying to put the retaining pin / spring back on the shoe nearest the passenger side is enough to test the patience of a saint Anyhow all back together (didn’t really do anything other rebuild and a good dose of brake cleaner) and all really good (for the moment) ? I suspect one of the shoes for some unexplainable reason has a habit of sometimes getting stuck and not fully returning? Anyhow for now things seem perfect Thank you for the comments.......if they weren't helpful technically they didn't at least keep me smiling when I was getting ready to throw the town in last night with the retaining spring. |

if it plays up again, you might find it easier to work on when its on the bench, just lift the engine/gbox and tbox out together then you will be able to see the drum and parts inside easily with plenty of space to work in. Cheers

You have the same work surface as us - are those egg yolks or satsumas in the photos?

Jst I'm sure you're right but being in capable of drilling a hole in a plastic trim panel I might just give your suggestion a wade berth! |
