I do think I'll end up going to Doncaster as I've yet to find a local LR specialist who fills me with any confidence ;/£

Yes, £380 - but he could do with the car for two days, and transport would then be an issue - also, rust less are based in the old BMW garage in newcastle - so the prospect of being able to walk around the town for 5 hours is better than being stuck inthe middle of nowhere for a day ! I have spoken to them, and they seem to know what they are about. But I can't find anyone who has used them.

It can be difficult to chose....Rustmaster, Rust Less, Rustbuster, there are several companies all charging about the same professing to be the best. A recommendation takes alot of legwork and time out of the process. Do they offer a five year guarantee, free reinspection and reapplication before the 5 year point? If so you've got nothing to lose! In my eye any work is only as good if it's backed up by a good guarantee!

I get mine done my JSF 4x4 in Norfolk.

They do want the vehical for a couple of days but that is so they can steam/pressure wash the underside and de-grease it and then let it dry overnight before applying the waxoil so it's not going over the top of mud or traping water in places.

I can see how all this can be done in 5 hours unless they put the vehicals in an oven to dry!

assuming we're talking about a fairly new truck here.....
why not just get a couple of aerosol cans of waxoyl from halfords and DIY ?

am I missing the point?

I was informed that coverage takes approximately 15 to 20 litres on the vehicle, that's a Censored load of cans! Also you cannot atomise the waxoyl sufficiently enough to get into all the difficult to get to places that you can reach with the correct equipment/lances! If you want peace of mind and a proper job either leave it to someone who has the correct equipment, buy the equipment yourself or miss the point and go to Halfords and do a half ar5ed job yourself with spray cans! Having spent a bucket load of money on a practical vehicle is it not worth a further investment of less than 1:5% of the new purchase price to protect it? It should have been done at manufacture I think! Just an opinion!

My TD5 Ninety took 15 litres.
All interior panels were removed and the chassis coated inside and out.
You can't do all that with aerosol cans.

Hi all, well, arrived in Newcastle Under Lyme at 9:30 - car went straight onto ramps and steam cleaned - left at around 4pm fully waxoyled underneath, and with cavities treated with the creamy version !

All in all, very pleased - £380 well spent in my opinion and the car looks like new again, hopefully thats it for a few years with possible minor touch ups on scuffs

give them a try !
