On the other hand with an average of 12000 miles a year you would only need to fill up 6.5 times. Just the though of spending more time away from the pumps is great.

If you protect the tanks properly underneath it means there will be no need for any jerry cans on the roof thus brining the overall vehicle centre of gravity down nice and low, counter acting any rollcage/roof rack/roof tent.

Wing tanks are gravity fed into main tanks The wing tanks on our vehicles are doubled bottomed for protection. Cill tanks/pods need pumping.

Most people don't need that sort of fuel capacity . However we run on about 160 litres capacity and top up when the opportunity arrives. 200 miles between fuel stations with one fuel station out of fuel then you need large tanks! Especially when your mpg drops from say 30 to <24 mpg Lowest mpg I have recorded is 18 mpg on a 300TDi.

Have come across fuel stations with no fuel due to road conditions not allowing tankers through Another occasion fuel station with plenty of petrol in underground tank but electric pump not working!
