Got the propshafts on. 16 bolts. 15 bolts took about 15min to put on. The last bolt (one of the captive ones from the tranny) had damaged threads from shipping. It took me 2 hours of fiddling to give up and resort to power tools. I cross threaded the bolt on with my impact gun... Sad I will pay for this later

Got the rad mounts on. Will need to weld some tabs on the top of the rad cover

One half done - then had to break for dinner

Also found out that the Disco transducer in the R380 has a different size square (2.6mm) than the cable from my 110 (3mm). Also spent about 1 hour trying to put this together with no luck.....

More next weekend

The decals down the side of yours look amazing Thumbs Up but I don't think I could give up a v8 for a diesel Shocked top work though!

Thanks Mk1. My V8 was never really very powerful or reliable, I am hoping the TDI will last me for a long time.

Had some more time last night

Rad mount top supports welded in and painted

Installed!

I had to reposition the top cap over the suspension to get the coolant reservoir to fit properly. Anyone see any issues with doing this?

After this it fit really well and the hood closes

Did some more work on the weekend. Forgot to take photos of most of it.

I pulled the parking brake apart to try to use the one from the LT95 but it had a different end on it than the R380 end. I figured I could make it work by cutting the two tabs off and shaping it into the end from the R380 cable,

I had success it getting this done and had it nicely installed but it seems that the cable length to stopper is different so it would not release enough to get the brake not engaged. 2 hrs later I was back to where I started..... Big Cry

I also found the worst job so far. The spring and washer that hold the brake pads on are a Censored . I worked for about an hour trying to get the stupid little washer in and around the T on the retainer.

I cursed this .....

I finally bent one end up, put some vise grips on it and it went on the first time.... (sorry for the bad picture but you can get the idea)

I have also lost the horn wire, need to look closer to see where it went?

I also got the rad cover and front cover on

Install E-brake (need to order cable)
Install Speedo (need to order cable)
install Shift Lever bushing (in the post....)
Re install interior (mostly done)
Muffler (need to have fabricated)
Horn - need to find wire.....
Disco Air cleaner needs to find a home in the engine bay unless there are other suggestions

I took it for a drive now that I have the cowling in over the transmission. Much quicker than my old V8. The engine temp came up higher than the V8 but stopped at about 3/4. I am going to get one of the digital ones that go on the exhaust output as they seem to be the best solution for this.

Cheers

Tim
