So here is my new to me 110. It is a 1984 that was suposed to have been shown at the Geneva auto show in 1983 or 1984. It has a 3.5 V8 and has suposed factory overdrive fitted and some other interested features (shag carpet!!). It only has 135,000km as it was seemingly very rairly used by its previous owners.
I purchased it from a great fella in Bern Switzerland, drove it with the family from Swiss-Austria-Germany-Luxemburg-France-Belgium-Netherlands and it is now at the port waiting to be shipped back to me here in Canada. Overall things went without a hitch with it running beautifully the whole time. I was very worried about a breakdown during the trip as we had a tight schedule (with 2 extra days) to get the port and get back on the plane. I will update more as I go along with the project when it gets home. Yes, the colour, it is very 1984...... My first Defender, I have a Series II that I have been restoring for the past few years, it should be on the road this fall. Well its here. I took the train up to Montreal and cleared customs yesterday. Drove home 500km with no problems (even with the plate from the BMW on the back.....). Had to cross my fingers on this one.

Well I finally made it home.
Taxes, duty, 500km with no "official plate", taxes, shipping, taxes, insurance (you have what vehicle.....?) taxes, Safety (MOT) I am going back to the licence bureau for the 4th time tomorrow (you have a what? from where? sorry sir thats not in our system....?)
