200 Tdi won't start unless you press the barrel in..
Good evening all

After some advise if I may please.

I have a 200Tdi 90 that won't start unless you push the barrel in as far as it goes - and then as soon as you release it - the engine stops.

Just turning the key as normal you get nothing other than ignition lights

New switch on the back of the barrel required. Part number PRC8230 from memory

I'd recommend get a whole new ignition barrel with keys and fit this at the same time http://foundry4x4.co.uk/index.php?route=pr...duct_id=74 Much better piece of mind and you wont have to worry about warn keys or barrels.

Speek to Matt at FCX I'm sure he will be able to sort you one out Thumbs Up

the electric switch part on the back of the ignition lock needs replacing , not the whole lock if its not worn too much
apart from having different key replace lock complete if not sure

switch is normally held in to the main lock with small screw

+1 munch. Or if it's the original 2x screws (the bottom one you'll drop into the deepest bowels of the dashboard either on removal or refitting never to see the light of day again, don't sweat, 1 is fine Whistle Laughing )

Completely agree you guys, I am a fan of doing other jobs while it is apart and accessible so was throwing it in as a suggestion.
