United Kingdom 1993 Defender 110 200 Tdi XS CSW Java Black
Interesting Project
Hi All,
After a bit of advice...

I am in the process of changing the body on my TDI to one from a TD5 XS.

All is looking well, i have the full loom except the engine bay loom from the TD5, and hope to keep the dash etc.
Obviously, there are several features that the TD5 XS had that my 200TDI didn't, mainly the heated seats, heated screen, elec windows and central locking. Some of tis at first glance seems to switch through conventional relays/switches etc, but i am guessing things like central locking won't work too well without the ECU. I would like to keep this, so was wondering if anyone has ever replaced the land rover system with an aftermarket system that would remove the need for the ECU?

Also, does anyone know where i might find the connector pinouts for the various connectors under the bonnet?

Any other suggestions of things i may not have thought about are also welcome, I'm fairly sure i have taken on far more than i can chew!

Thanks

Dan

Actually realised that this may be a question more suited to the TD5 forum, If anyone has the power to move it, please feel free, as i don't want to double post.

Thanks

I put an aftermarket central locking kit on my Td5 110 SW and it works completely independent of the 10AS. Cost me about £30 from a company called Hawk found on eBay. It was only the back door where I needed a bit of fabrication to work the lock. I'm sure that you could buy a basic kit and use the existing wiring/solonoids if already fitted, the only difference is that the LR set up has 6?wires on the drivers lock and the Hawk kit only has 5. You can still lock all doors with the key in the drivers door or use the remote fob. Also you can lock/unlock with the drivers door lock button.

Use the Rave manuals.
If you look under the Td5 wiring diagrams you'll find 300 TDi wiring Diagrams as well.
This is what I use.
I have a limited edition 300 TDi build on a Td5 body and dash
