I think you require a showman's licence to do that. I asked the DVLA some years ago when I wanted to tow a woodchipper behind an Ifor Williams trailer behind my old 90. It was a no-go on an ordinary licence and HGV licence that I had at the time. 2015 90 XS CSW TDCi - Beautiful

Have done it with 2 14 tonne silage trailers, empty, on the way to a job. Thank goodness I didn't have to back up in the lanes!

I did it once with 3 small artic bale trailers, it was all right but had to pull over when a lorry was trying to overtake, there was literally no road left! Then when I went to turn into the field they were too much for the gateway, had to drop them off and take them in individually
Saying that I was loading the back 2 without unhitching and without tying myself in knots. We reckoned the whole lot measured around 100' |

As stated above, no, sorry, it'd be fun.
Unless you're ag or showman registered, or operating under Crown exemption, it's illegal. |

! Oh we'll, suppose I will have to do two journeys.
Thanks for replies. What is meant by Agricultural registered? Is it a special qualification on your driving licence like showman or something else? I have two holding numbers for the land I will be going back and too from and it will not be for Hire or Reward. I just want to transport wastage from trimming of trees and hedges to my farm to burn. |

There's no such thing as a "showmans licence" or even a catorgry on your licence! It becomes similar to agricultural if the stipulations are met. I'm no expert and can't quote the full stipulations but I believe in agricultural the motive vehicle has to be agricultural registered as such and subject to speeds etc. Showmans vehicles are also subject to similar rules ie taxed as showmans vehicle, the driver only needs to be licenced for the type of vehicle (class1 or C+E) as it is for hire or reward, also subject to speed limits. I have had experience of heavy haulage though where depending on the size they become categorised STGO either 1,2,3. Under cat 3 (the largest) your prime mover (front truck) becomes a locomotive, ballasted and with many pivots within a "train" of load and potentially several vehicles. All movements need to be notified to the authority's and escorted with ridiculous speed limits that are never enforced. Basically for you it's going to be two journeys to keep within the law Make me think of this Formerly mao99999 16 Focus RS Nitrous Blue. 11 FFRR TDV8 Vouge SE Black Black. 08 DEFENDER SVX SOFT TOP (SUPERB) 08 DEFENDER 110 DCPU Stornoway grey (Overland Exploration Unit) 05 Fiesta ST 150 Van 04 Jaguar XKR 4.2 Supercharged V8 02 DEFENDER 90 TD5 (next years soft top project) 95 DEFENDER 110 CSW 300 TDi Phoenix black 95 DEFENDER 90 HT Monti Carlo blue COUNTY 300 TDi 67 109" SERIES 2a TUNED 200 TDI 64 DAVID BROWN 990 rat look 55 86" SERIES 1 |

He only got picked up by overall length! Not the pivot points hat off to the guy A pioneer within the industry. My dad used to run this as the second pivot (a 5th wheel) couldn't be parted unless by mechanical means ie a welded bolt in the locking handle:- P.s maybe that is a way for SMB to carry out the movement pin the first NATO hitch and place a spot weld on the pin.
