Prepared A/C pipes for welding in our 130 TD5. I have modiffied the original heater box with new A/C evaporator inside. A/C is a must for me, but standart TD5 bellow the dash is useless, I'm touching it all time with my legs. Second stage will be another one evaporator inside the cab. I'm convetring the 130 HCPU into a long Station Wagon. more pictures here: http://ok2mtm.rajce.idnes.cz/2014_06_11_De...heater_box "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "BlufĂnek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

Changed one rear brake disk today - was hoping to do both. Spent ages cleaning the wheel bearings, applied new grease, new gasket, new locknut and measured the disc runout. I was loctiting and torquing up the 5 half shaft retaining bolts and this happened.....
Click image to enlarge Managed to drill and use a stud remover with the hub still attached. Didn't want to take it off again. Was holding my breath whilst ever so gently twisting the stud remover - came out easily. 4 of the bolts torqued up correctly but one just wouldn't click. They were really difficult to remove initially so expect they may have been done up to tight. Off to MJ fews in the morning to buy new bolts - don't fancy that happening again. |

The drive flange bolts can be a nightmare, I have one to drill out at the moment. I think the holes get plugged with gasket gloop and thread locker and the bolts get tightened to yield point on installation.
I now never use threadlocker on these, instead I use spring washers under the heads (it worked fine from 1947 to the 1990s after all). I also use hex socket head capscrews ("Allen bolts") since these are the correct grade, 10.9, and more readily available than hex head. |

Took empty wine bottles to the bottle bank (a 110 load space worth o.O) then sat down and started wading through quotes to make my final decision as to who is getting the contract and how far I am going to go!
