Continued with changing the bolts to SS ones from Brendan. So far the rear body to crossmember, rear door, side doors, wing top vents all done. Will do the front grill screws when I take the A bar off to paint the mantec brackets. Also adjusted the rear door so it doesn't catch when opening.

Also did the rattling gearstick mod as well so hopefully that's another job off the list Very Happy 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!

Spent a very dirty weekend on Darmoor working with the DC4x4R for the 10 Tors event - getting very muddy and using the 110 on all those areas of the moor that are normally out of bounds to drive on.

I was assigned to the Dartmoor Rescue Group on Willsworhty ranges and we ferried the team out onto the moors to recover injured or ill participants back to areas for tratement and care.

Manged to recover one of the Dartmoor Rescue Groups' 110 ambulances that got stuck in a rut when we were off on a shout - which resulted in minimal delay on attending the casualites.

As I was camping I used all my vehicles new toys to great effect! - namely the Airtop heater, dual battery, table, DAB radio and top box!

now got to get it clean ready for the trip to Norway !! Thumbs Up

Mr. Green Thumbs Up

ahhh no .. mine was much less drastic!
the Cave 110 was from the Oakhampton based DRG team I belive - and had nice new HID speaker lights fitted recently !

The one infront of my 110 fell off the track and got dug in trying to get him self out, so I gave him a tow backwards onto the track and we were on our way again ... sorry no pics as we were in a hurry to get to the casualties at the time - but the driver was given a good ribbing till they saw the pic of the cave 110 ! Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

I've been toying with the idea of tidying up the front end of my Defender for quite some time now but being an individual I didn't want to just refresh what I had.

As it is, the plastic round the headlights is looking a little faded, so I've made a start there. I bought some Series III light surrounds, stripped all the paint off them(and there's me thinking they were made of plastic!). I then primed and painted them, whipped off the existing plastic Defender surrounds, cleaned them and got the coping saw out and cut out the recess to the lights, primed and painted those.

I went for body colour on the Defender bit and satin black on the Series bit. Untill I get some more genuine plastic fixings to screw the black bit in seperately(The holes are there in the metal panel as a throwback to earlier Land Rovers) I just put some black woodscrews into common all garden rawlplugs

Then it was just a case of screwing it back on the motor.

I'm pleased

So for the cost of a rattle can of primer and a can of body colour paint, a pair of Series light surrounds off ebay which were a fiver plus postage, then a bit of work I've made a start on the tidy up of the front of my Defender.
