Put mine on this evening. Took about 10 minutes to undo all the bolts and get the studs out. Took about another 10 minuts to put the new plate (the second largest) in and the top bolt. Then an hour and a half to put the bottom one in
Took it out for a short 10 mile drive, TBH felt the same and there was no apparent difference in the way it drove. If over the next week or so I notice any impovements I will of course update this thread. I stopped off and filled the tank to the brim so i will report back on how I think the mpg is. Boy |

Exactly the same for me too with the 16mm blank fitted! I just got 31.6 mpg out of my last tankfull! Never achieved anywhere near that before fitting the blanks! I'm assuming that all of you who fitted the blanking plates are no longer under warranty?

All this news sounds great.
When my Defender runs out of warranty next month then it looks like this will be the first job to do. Looks like mine already has the bolts fitted instead of studs. Where do you get the blanking plates from? I'm thinking of an ITG air filter to go with the blanking plate? Thanks Daz110 |

. Why wait for the end of warrenty ?. I have 12 months left on mine the plates a really easy to put in and out within 20mins!. Just carry what you need to revert to normal just in case. All you need is a 13mm spanner ,13mm socket and a pair of small grips. Job done 2008 110 County utility ex 1988 defender 90 ,td ex 1970 series III |

Why are you concerned about other people's warranty???? It's their choice. Same goes for remaps and a myriad of other modifications....
Good choice I had one fitted prior to the blanks. If you've not got a snorkel you get a nice induction 'growl' with the new filter fitted from the intake at a certain RPM.
