I love threads like this, and good to see LR are still keeping to their build tolerances adopted in the late 40s.....
Look forward to watching it evolve! |

Rosso_NI I made the tree sliders
Slow progress today, yet again down to the varying differences in dimensions due to the Land Rover build. Its causing issues as I have no datum to work from.... Go and measure your Defender for instance the gaps between the A B and C pillars and compare the measurements, also measure the distance from the chassis to the outer body. So lots of time wasted measuring trying to work out where the differences in dimensions are, cant wait to get the Land Rover bits fixed and move on to the aftermarket/my mods. Not Having a go at Land Rover BTW but ........ Anyway today I removed the 2nd row seat box. There is a massive un used/un available storage area under the box, needless to say I will be making good use of this area sub, amp, inverter, extra battery's etc etc. Click image to enlarge I expect to cut out parts of the floor under the box and recess it to give more space. Click image to enlarge I also removed rear door slam catches, check out the NS body where Land Rover have had to open the holes up to get things (the catch) to line up. FFS if they made it true in the first place they would not have to carry out bodges like this later in the build OS C pillar door catch fixing holes. Cant wait to see the outcome of all this work. Also how are you going to transition from the body to the tub(width wise)?
Good BUILD |

I'm amazed at the amount of wasted space under there!
I wonder if the 110 double cap is the same... |
