If I get time, I'll take a load of photos. Probably setup the GoPro and do a timelapse too! Craig Rogers

Didn't get the GoPro setup, but did take a load of photos. To be honest it was a simple task.

Here's how I did them;

I ordered "Kit12" in Dynamic direct from Polybush

The night before I covered both upper and lower nuts in GT85

Just be careful with the lower when spraying as there is a cut out in the brake cover, you don't really want that stuff on your discs

I then put some more on before I started

19mm socket is needed for both upper and lower, I used a Breaker Bar to loosen the upper

To remove the lower, the proper way is to hold the lower threaded part and undo the nut. Right near the bottom of the shock housing is quite strong so I used some grips to stop the shock turning instead

Undid the lower nut

When removing the shock, take a good look at the orientation of the bush washers, this is important to allow the shock movement around the bushes

As you can see the upper bush is past its best before

As I don't have a press, to remove, I drilled loads of holes in the bush to weaken it (careful not to drill into the tapered shock behind the bush)

Then with a socket (14mm if I remember correctly), I drove the bush out with a hammer

Old upper with the new upper (poly is in two parts so you don't have to press it in)

With a wire brush, I cleaned the inside of the shock mount

Also cleaned up the lower pin and thread

Also cleaned the upper pin mount and thread

Also cleaned the lower cups

Also cleaned the bush washers

Pushed the new Poly bushes into the lower cups

Pushed shock through the lower mounts. To help compress, I just used the nut and a washer. There wasn't enough thread to put the bush washer on. Then once compressed, removed the nut and washer again

Fitted upper Poly bushes and torqued the nut up to the specified 85Nm (this is for a Puma, may be different for other models)

Fitted the lower bush washer and torqued to 28Nm (again Puma specification)

Job done!

Any difference? Yes, lots! You have to remember that my bushes were worn so there was going to big difference anyway. I had a slight knocking on drive pick up from the rear, this has now gone. Craig Rogers

Nice job, I took my 110 for a main stealer service yesterday, they stated on the healthcheck that I needed new bushes there. My reply was "ah yes, they are still in the cubby box"

Think I will try fit them tomorrow, I was helping a mate shift his half rebuilt RRC out of the grain store today instead.

On the bright side I have just replaced all the leafs on the 80 with parabolics Thumbs Up quality ride now He who dies with the most toys wins Smile

Finally ordered PBKIT12 myself and aim to do this later on this week when my truck gets collected from the paintshop. I went for the red ones as mine is more 'fast road.' Thanks again X-isle. 6 months after write up I've just found it again and your guide will come in handy. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Followed same process as above. Mine was 18mm not 19mm and I did it without removing the wheels. Hour and a half to do both sides.

I need to do this soon, just read this thread and thought that I would like to say thank-you to Mal for putting up this thread link in another thread and also x-isle for the guide. Thumbs Up
Very helpful and takes out that slight fear of jumping in head first and solving any possible problems along the way.

Thumbs Up

I should have done mine ages ago but put it off not knowing prices, assuming LR prices are often sky high but these to my surprise are very reasonable considering.
I guess the fronts could do with doing at the same time though too, if a little trickier.
