If I get time, I'll take a load of photos. Probably setup the GoPro and do a timelapse too! Craig Rogers

Didn't get the GoPro setup, but did take a load of photos. To be honest it was a simple task.
Here's how I did them; I ordered "Kit12" in Dynamic direct from Polybush Click image to enlarge The night before I covered both upper and lower nuts in GT85 Click image to enlarge Just be careful with the lower when spraying as there is a cut out in the brake cover, you don't really want that stuff on your discs Click image to enlarge I then put some more on before I started Click image to enlarge 19mm socket is needed for both upper and lower, I used a Breaker Bar to loosen the upper Click image to enlarge To remove the lower, the proper way is to hold the lower threaded part and undo the nut. Right near the bottom of the shock housing is quite strong so I used some grips to stop the shock turning instead Click image to enlarge Undid the lower nut Click image to enlarge When removing the shock, take a good look at the orientation of the bush washers, this is important to allow the shock movement around the bushes As you can see the upper bush is past its best before Click image to enlarge As I don't have a press, to remove, I drilled loads of holes in the bush to weaken it (careful not to drill into the tapered shock behind the bush) Click image to enlarge Then with a socket (14mm if I remember correctly), I drove the bush out with a hammer Click image to enlarge Old upper with the new upper (poly is in two parts so you don't have to press it in) Click image to enlarge With a wire brush, I cleaned the inside of the shock mount Click image to enlarge Also cleaned up the lower pin and thread Click image to enlarge Also cleaned the upper pin mount and thread Click image to enlarge Also cleaned the lower cups Click image to enlarge Also cleaned the bush washers Click image to enlarge Pushed the new Poly bushes into the lower cups Click image to enlarge Pushed shock through the lower mounts. To help compress, I just used the nut and a washer. There wasn't enough thread to put the bush washer on. Then once compressed, removed the nut and washer again Click image to enlarge Fitted upper Poly bushes and torqued the nut up to the specified 85Nm (this is for a Puma, may be different for other models) Click image to enlarge Fitted the lower bush washer and torqued to 28Nm (again Puma specification) Click image to enlarge Job done! Any difference? Yes, lots! You have to remember that my bushes were worn so there was going to big difference anyway. I had a slight knocking on drive pick up from the rear, this has now gone. Finally ordered PBKIT12 myself and aim to do this later on this week when my truck gets collected from the paintshop. I went for the red ones as mine is more 'fast road.' Thanks again X-isle. 6 months after write up I've just found it again and your guide will come in handy. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Followed same process as above. Mine was 18mm not 19mm and I did it without removing the wheels. Hour and a half to do both sides.

I need to do this soon, just read this thread and thought that I would like to say thank-you to Mal for putting up this thread link in another thread and also x-isle for the guide.
Very helpful and takes out that slight fear of jumping in head first and solving any possible problems along the way. |

I should have done mine ages ago but put it off not knowing prices, assuming LR prices are often sky high but these to my surprise are very reasonable considering.
I guess the fronts could do with doing at the same time though too, if a little trickier. |
