Just in case it helps anyone else, I have finally started making sense out of the Nanocom .csv (semicolon separated values) file.

The raw data I had was lines with all the info contained in the first cell of the line.

First, I needed to highlight line1, line 2, etc.

Then go (on my Mac) to Data>Text to Columns>Delimited> click Tab and semicolon > Finish.

That produced separate columns of figures without the semicolons.

Now all I have to do is try and create a graph I can make sense of....!

Thanks Kmac for the pointer Thumbs Up 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop
Now a 2013 110 USW too.

Just in case this helps anyone else. Puma 2.4 2009

Had my Nanocom Evo for a couple of weeks now and while playing around and getting a feel for it I have managed to read any fault codes, read and change my EKA code (to something with lower numbers) I am hoping to program my new combined key fob when I have finished making it.

Everything seemed ok and I am happy with it. Until last night when I noticed that the interior lights no longer worked on auto (mid position on the switch) nothing when I open the doors or lock or unlock, they would normally dim down after locking or come on when unlocking. Looking into the problem I found that if you use the set country option in the 10as section of the Nanocom it might cause other settings to change.

As I had used this setting to set it up for the UK it had changed my Interior/welcome light settings. Further reading of this, (Lucas 10-AS Alarm ECU Guide.pdf) this can be found in the Nanocom website downloads and support section. It gives a warning that this might happen.

I thought I had read every piece of documentation including all the posts on the forum before using my Nanocom, but obviously not the country warning.
To be fair it wasn’t that clear of a warning unless you read the 10as pdf. So anyway I went back in to the settings in the 10 AS (settings group one) and changed back the interior/welcome light settings to smart. The interior lights now work as before, but I am wondering if this has changed any other settings that I don’t know about yet. I will have to go through them all when I get time to see if it has altered anything else.

Regards to all.

More info on the Nanocom settings altering after using the set Country option.

I have noticed that two more settings had changed in the 10AS section. These were key mobilise and key disarm they had both changed to disabled. I think that both should be enabled. To allow the EKA code to be used if needed.
Can anybody confirm if this is correct and is it the securest setup for the 10AS?

Not sure if it’s too sensitive for an open forum. PM if you think it is.

Regards to all.

If you want the EKA process to remain standard, leave those settings disabled. Enable them and you can unlock the car with the key, start the engine, and drive off without using the fob buttons and without using the EKA code.

connection problems
Hi all,

I am having problems trying to connect my Nanocom to my Puma 2.4, got it back in November and after a few teething problems (as per previous posts) it worked fine.

Every so often it would not connect and throw up an error message, saying

“The system is not able to read the identity information from the car please recycle the ignition and retry”

After recycling the ignition it would then connect.
But towards the end of November it would throw up this error message every time I tried to connect.

I raised the issue with Black box and they gave me lots of things to try to resolve it but nothing worked, this went on over the Christmas break and eventually after trying everything they could think of they asked me to send it back.

Now here is my dilemma, before sending it back I called in at my local Landrover garage and they tried there diagnostic kit on my Puma and it connected no problem. Which is what I expected? Because I thought the Nanocom was faulty.

But while I was in there they let me try my Nanocom on another Puma, and it connected no problem. So this threw me completely, it works but not on my vehicle.

I have tried to think of anything that could have changed on my vehicle since the last time the Nanocom connected but there doesn’t appear to be anything.
Black box has all the info on this problem and are trying to resolve it but everything they have suggested so far is not working.

It’s like a catch 22 situation.
It works on another vehicle
It doesn’t work on mine.
My vehicle connects ok using different diagnostic kits i.e. garage snap-on kit, my Scangauge, my BAS box.

Anybody any thoughts or suggestions apart from using it as a paperweight, which is what it’s doing at the moment.

Regards to all.

Can anyone help with a query on the nanocom AS10 inputs screen? I've had a strange problem with the interior lights being on all the time. After looking at the AS10 module the problem went away. However I noticed that there is an input shown as Driver Sill and Passenger Sill. On mine one is high and the other low. But what are these Sill inputs?

This is for a Puma.

Had a reply from Nanocom who say that the Sill indicators are for a Disco. But why are they on the Puma screen and what are they?

The AS10 programming module in Nanocom is the same one used for all vehicles with that alarm module.
