Was looking at the front of my defender yesterday and wondered if the gutter under the windscreen served any real purpose. I know when stationary it would stop rain running over/ behind the flaps but other than that surely it just generates wind noise at speed?
Thoughts on cutting it off please? It also re directs any water that hits the windscreen away from the bulkhead foam seal.

I agree that whilst stationary the gutter does indeed stop water running into the seal, when driving into heavy rain at motorway speeds it does little to nothing. Would the bulkhead seal hold water - it seems to be made of foam? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

It is a common leak point... But if fitted correctly should seal according to LR
