United Kingdom 2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Zermatt Silver
Puma Question
Hi all.

Got my Defender 110 CSW a couple of weeks ago and overaul very pleased with it. Very Happy
I have noticed when on tick over it sounds like there is something rattling in the inlet duct on the wing which disapears when revved up. Is this normal?
Also, most of the time when travelling along there is the normal diesel knock sound but, there is also a loud rattling sound simular to a petrol with pre ignition (pinking).
There is a very long steep hill near where I live and after driving up the hill the rattling sound is no longer present and doesn't reappear for a couple of miles after. The engine is much quieter without the rattle and was wondering, again is this normal or could there be a fault?
Thanks in advance..........TC. Thumbs Up Its easy to smile and be happy when the world rolls along like a song.

Sounds a bit like mine before Yeovil LR did the software upgrade before christmas - apart from the first bit about the inlet duct.

More than happy for you to come and have a drive in mine to compare - if that would help.

I am between Taunton and Ilminster.

my intake used to make that noise as do most of the new ones i have come across - it seems to go with time, as the bit probably wears through and falls off!

Are you into greenlaning? you should come out to play with us, quite a few Taunton way on here. Cheers
