After 4 nearly 4 weeks car is back from the garage. Just a short summary of the latest work done one the engine.
Again a new front cover and crankshaftseals. New sump and gaskets. As well as new seals for the Ladder frame - connection between oil pan and clutch housing. According to the garage the ladder frame gasktes werenīt fitted correctly- new gastkets were fitted unfortunately to very little effect. After about 300 km the b****y thing started to leak again - not as bad as it used to, be - but still ... it leaks. Has anyone had a similar situation? Any ideas? |

My rear crankshaft seal leaks.
As the clutch is nearly due changing I'm just treating it as a constant oil change till the clutch needs doing as its worth doing while in the area. Just keep topping it up, if you start loosing a lot quickly then its pursuing but to my mind 3 drips 7 hours is really not worth worrying about. If it does really bother you clean it all off with some brake cleaner or gunk to have a really clean engine and then go for a drive till engine is warm then come home and inspect everywhere from top of your engine downwards and try and pinpoint the area it is coming from, Also take your engine breathers off and clean them out. My cyclone breather got blocked and caused the block to pressurise making it leak past a gasket on the side of the block. cleaned the breathers, changed the breathers back to a clean dry engine. My 2 cents. |
