I put my heated mirrors on a seperate switch, it's amazing how many times I use them seperate to the windscreen heater especially when it is light drizzle/rain and they stay as clear as a bell.

It's great when you get lucky on ebay and a company lists goods at a poor time

Couple of jobs done this week, I painted the corner chequer plate above^^^ and fitted until I put them on and seal them in summer but at least i won't loose them in the mean time now also bought some brand new take out front seats as mine were creaking and knackered (just got to get the matching middle row now) so now they're fitted it's much more comfy I finally put the Vw 99 relay in so winter should be less annoying now but I still haven't got around to wiring up the heated screen and mirrors
Pics of new seats coming when we get a dry day. Cheers Ray |

New middle row to match the new fronts should be winging its way to me in the next day or two
Click image to enlarge Only problem is the front crossmember to bolt them to. Hopefully all will be well with my fitting plan that includes cutting the new crossmember into three pieces Last edited by mk1collector on 10th Sep 2017 7:12pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Brilliant...that chequer plate was a bargain.
Looking forward to seeing those seats fitted. Are the fronts in already? |

Yeah the fronts have been in a few weeks (bought from a defender2 member a while ago) I've just been waiting for a middle row to come up and a quick phone call to lri (new forum sponsor) saw me sorted straight away I picked up all the brackets at the weekend from a chap off ebay down in Stourbridge and got all the bolts from Danlet today. I just need to get the steel channel now to make my crossmember fitting problem work

They were a drastic improvement on my old seats... But they were pretty "used" we'll say

New brackets to go with the new seats
Click image to enlarge Good news my three piece crossmember with its extra steel channel sleeve worked perfectly and is just as strong if not stronger than originally! Also I didn't have to lift the body so that was a bit easier. Ray Last edited by mk1collector on 10th Sep 2017 10:02pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Cheers chaps no pics of fitting the crossmember but if you get round to doing the job pm me and I'll talk you through what I did. It made it a lot easier putting it in in sections, it's absolutely solid and bolts to all the factory mounting points.
