If you still want Kenwood try sites like Sonic electronix or Crutchfield in the USA some of these companies do world wide delivery and probably cheaper.
The UK here has stupid prices for everything, try living here! Rolling Eyes
Anyway, might be worth a look...
The US is good for exports, all of my Kicker kit is exported from the US to over here to a dealer.
Kicker might be worth a look too, especially the hideaway for an active sub.
Kicker beat Kenwood IMO hands down on Amps, subs and tweeters but for speakers and 6x9's HU's etc Kenwood for sound quality. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

I found a place in the US www.audiosavings.com and bought these below, $61 delivery but combined it is around the same price as me buying the 5.25's alone in OZ. can't wait till they arrive then I will see what I need next.

Think I will probably need an amp, but not sure what type, so will get to that later..

OK I have another question Smile

While I decide how to make the boxes for the 6x9 for the rear top quarters, does anyone think these 6x9 wall mounted cabinets will do? I realise after reading this whole thread that they need some space to in the boxes so these look a bit small, I am just looking for something that will get the speakers fitted and working quickly until I figure out what I am going to do. I would still put them up in the top rear corners of the 110.

Here is a link to them and also a picture.

Cheers
Pat

They do look small and would be okay temporary, up there the gap between the headlining panel and roof is surprisingly tight.
You could use them as a basis to make something from though.
Keep me posted if you can, interested to see how it comes along.
Was interested myself before but because of work and and mainly cost I never proceeded. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

Just been on the Kicker site, they have launched a great App for passive sub box building etc.
There is wiring guides and cable gauge calculator and various bits.

New music system
Hi, I am looking for a high quality music system for my Defender 110. Basically looking for HU, front and rear speakers, sub woofer (if required) and also in-built bluetooth to hook up my iphone. Mine is a 7 seater and I am not keen on anything too big that will hamper the comfort (in terms of space) for the passengers. Any recommendations (a couple of options at least) much appreciated. I've also seen DAB, DAB+, DMB etc no clue what these are Embarassed

What sort of budget are you thinking? Top quality, slight compromises or budget?

Midget?? Not sure I understand the inference Confused Looking for decent sound quality (Ok, so I understand high quality maybe a stretch Smile ) and willing to compromise just a bit on space, if I must. By the way have learnt what DAB/DMB means thru Wiki. Not available in my part of the world but I guess no harm in having it.

Firstly I'd recommend soundproofing (which I myself have to do) that will dampen engine road noise etc, and automatically improve sound quality.
Now that you mention you'd like a good budget - quality compromise which should give you something pretty good for your needs.
Now what is your brand preference if any? âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

Steve, I have no brand preference at all other than to say that I prefer a Japanese make considering the after sales service available in my part of the world. I am also ok to mix brands between the speakers, sub, HU etc.

Okay, if your not in the UK or US are you likely to have any shipping issues? Confused
Brand mixing is okay I'm if you match components where possible, I.e. Kenwood HU, Kenwood speakers, JL Amp, JL Sub.

Thumbs Up
I'll see what I can find for you. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸
