Excellent product.
Absolutely no excuse why these are not standard factory fitted equipment. Does this set come with any spare filters? Are you able to supply some spare filters with this set? ****CENSORED**** |

Hi Rockjaw,
Sorry I can only get 7 as they were left over after a project. It's a good question on the filters, they are available for about 40 and from what I can read on the Internet should last from 50,000 to 100000 miles. I guess it depends on the condition of the engine. I do not return the collected oil to the engine but collect it in a short clear pipe, I have not measured it but guessing at 30ml every 3000 miles. This would otherwise have gone back through the turbo/intercooler. Regards, Steve |

Are these like the cyclone breathers from the 300tdi? A sort of catch tank?

Hello,
Yes, they filter the blowby of the majority of oil in it also any debris in this blowby which would ultimately go through the turbo, intercooler and back into the engine. There are 2 PRV inside it, 1 to regulate engine crankcase pressure and 1 to protect against excessive crank case pressure. Crankcase ventilation on a TD5 is improved on. There is info on their website but I cannot get onto it for some reason. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=mann+hum...ent=safari |

Thanks Steve, We never return ours either - we have a little tap bottom of engine bay. This is a pic of a recent install - these provent 200 are life savers from around 60k miles onwards - you would NOT believe the difference in just the manifold gunge collected by units without them installed. Click image to enlarge Whatever does not sell I will take by the way!! I would take the lot, but I think the lads should get first go - why? Because these are a good price. Let me know how many are left when you get bored!! ) Thanks RJ[/img] ****CENSORED**** |

Ok I know it's a sales thread not a tech one, I've had a read around about them.
Would putting one of these on a 100k plus TD5 be beneficial? Or would it be too late. 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver |

It's never too late to stop smoking.
Ps. I'm not a doctor It may be more beneficial as the miles go up your engine will undoubtedly breath more. Hi Rockjaw, Thanks, people will think I am paying you if the shipping is not prohibitive I can send what you want. I will give everyone here a chance for a few weeks then they were going to go on Ebay for more money. I will let you know before I do that. Steve |

How are these fitted? Are they still an enclosed breather or does it go to atmosphere after the provent?

Rockjaw - what engines are you fittng these too? I'm thinking the current 2.2 already has an oil separator, a PCV valve and a breather hose connecting the camshaft cover to the turbocharger inlet duct. |
