One little warning, there is a Chinese company distributing very similar looking items and it is often difficult to distinguish them from the original. Make sure you get the original German produced Provent 200. ****CENSORED**** |

You're not wrong there Rob!!!! I am unsure if there are any other 2.4 XS owners that have successfully fitted this item in the vicinity of the airbox but it is indeed difficult due to available space. I also do not wish to mount it a million miles away due to potential pressure losses that defeats the object of fitting the filtration system in the first place. I do have a potential solution which involves two angled pieces of stainless and a flat piece of stainless to mount the item and to reinforce the supplied mounting bracket as I will only be able to 'pick up' a suitable existing securing bolt on one side of the bracket. 'Work in progress' but if anyone has any 2.4 XS installation photos they would be appreciated. I will make it fit! IT fits quite nicely in the 2.2, and I know we have fitted oodles of them in our 2.4s. If you want I can get one of our techies to poke his head under the hood of one and take a few pics of how we mounted them on the 2.4s?
Usually they're mounted port side just aft of the forward wheel strut using a 4 or 5 inch aluminium bracket bolted to the side of the body next to the vent. What issues are you experiencing fitting this unit? ****CENSORED**** |

Hi Rockjaw,
Just space. Was thinking of popping out the front offside headlamp and looking in there. Ideally I would like the unit accessable though. Ideal fit would of course be not extending the existing pipes much and that is what I am trying to achieve at present. Some pictures would indeed be a great help. On mine looking at the engine from the front rearwards the crankcase breather comes out on the left hand side of the engine and attaches to the airbox inlet front left hand corner. Mounting on the opposite side and extending the pipes from one side to the other of the engine compartment may not be best perhaps? Thank you. Have you seen the pics of my latest 110 install?
I also think right up front near the headlamp is a little far. Can't see that it would make much difference, but I would also feel a little uncomfortable with the extra tubing. Let me ring one of our techies and hear what he has to say. Take a quick look at my pics posted above for the 2.2 install and see how it is just behind the left wheel strut on passenger side. ****CENSORED**** |
