Unless they fit the monster roof the whole range, I can't see it making a difference! Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain...
XS 110 Utility maybe one day..... (did they fix the quality yet?) |

The extra roof is to (just) give it enough internal space to be legally a van. However I would've thought EU legislation would be consolidating all of that into single regulation throughout the region.

My crew cab is already classified as commercial, my tax this year was £190.
Much better than the £400 plus if could have been. |

I put my LHD 110 SVX through IVA (replaced SVA last year, I think). I couldn't prove actual date of manufacture, so DVLA put in down as Jan 1st 2008 but classified it as light goods vehicle with low road tax.
I had to remove factory rear step bumper to get it through - does not pass current regs. Very helpful and friendly VOSA in Exeter, by the way. |

Unlucky - i wouldnt buy a car from them (well any in the west midlands, if they gave me 50% off)
Odd the genuine LR one is type approved and spec'd for the UK market correctly so there is no reason this shouldnt have passed - unless you sticker has fallen off or been covered, or is an old one which isnt Mike |

Recently changed my MY07 110 CSW £400/yr RFL for a MY10 110 Utility £185/yr RFL.
Two Reasons for changing; Tax classification and problems that are well documented on this site for early Puma's. iE. Engine and Transmission. If the LR are making all Defenders N1 class for MY11 I suspect this could be end of the road for the 90/110 Station Wagons. Maybe LR have a new 7 seater on the way to replace the 110 CSW. Hope you got a good strong email server Andrew!
I did read somewhere this morning, can't remember where, that the biggest change is that the badge will now be silver not gold! I can hear the purists screaming from here to the dealer! Jav - commercial is £200 a year by the way, £185 was last year/budget... Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain... XS 110 Utility maybe one day..... (did they fix the quality yet?) |

Odd the genuine LR one is type approved and spec'd for the UK market correctly so there is no reason this shouldnt have passed - unless you sticker has fallen off or been covered, or is an old one which isnt
As I understand it, the new IVA is quite strict. Their comment was that the bumper is a protruding add-on and anything protruding has to have a certain curvature. They have a guide and it was clear the bumper does not meet that criteria. I said the bumper does not even come out past the spare wheel, so how could it be a protruding. I guess it depends who is interpreting the rules. (My Mantec spare wheel carrier had to come off too, needless to say, it and the bumper went back on the next day). No extra charge to bring the vehicle back in for a re-test. |

Yes, £0 option is now £90 option for some metal panels instead of 4 more expensive and complex to install glass windows - land rover logic?!
You still get the carpet and trim in the back of an XS utility though I believe? Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain... XS 110 Utility maybe one day..... (did they fix the quality yet?) |
