Just turning the steering wheel without the key in should make it lock....and you might have to wiggle the steering wheel as you turn the key to make come off again.

They are not the simplest to activate as the steering is soooo heavy without the engine running, especially if you've got big tyres

Turning the wheel, as you'd normally do, doesn't seem to work..... Any other ideas on what might be wrong?
Cheers everyone |

It maybe it is coz your not used to the steering, requiring more force AND movement (there is a lot more play in a Defender) to turn the wheel,if you can turn the steering wheel from lock to lock without the key in the ignition then your steering lock is . Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Only thing I can think of is to jack the front up and try. If still nothing it must be damaged or broken.
