Excellent - a large garage (or large man cave) with a seating area, washing hands area and a workshop PC ready for diving onto the forums and a few CAT5 sockets just in case! 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Something I have always wanted from when I was a kid, I did start doing a railway circuit when I was a young teenager in our spare room but my younger brother messes about with it and damaged it so I gave up in the end but I have always wanted one ever since so if I am able to enjoy my retirement then I will have another go but this time it will be in my garage which is 18'6" x 18'3" Graham

January: Defender to Germany; BOOT Boat Show in Düsseldorf.
February: sell current boat and (too small for new boat) mooring; have the larger boat on the Thames which I’ve been offered surveyed. March: Defender to steel boat manufacturer’s Open Day in Holland, buy boat from them if I haven’t already bought the s/h one on the Thames. April: Using hotel already booked in St Albans as a base, a bit of touring in the Defender; bring new boat home from Shepperton or Maasbracht. May: MOT the Morgan; wash the cars for the first time this year; play with the boat; June: Using routes from sites like this, do the same thing in the Morgan, eventually ending up in my gaff near St Tropez. Did the Route des Grandes Alpes and Col de La Bonette last year as soon as the passes were opened, this year it’ll be through Andorra to Seu d'Urgell, the La Molina, Ripoll, Céret area in the Pyrénées, then along the coast (Argelès Plage, Port-Barcarès, Agde, Sète, Martigues, La Grande-Motte, Aigues-Mortes…). July: Spend all of June and July in the South of France, return to the UK (Castellane, Guillestre, Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, Bonneval-sur-Arc, Bourg-St.-Maurice, Ugine, Toisinges, Lons-le-Saunier…) before it gets TOO hot; . August: Defender’s 1st MOT; cruise the Southern Broads and a bit of coast-hopping. September: Tour France’s Champagne area with the Morgan Car Club. October: Two weeks in Tenerife. November: Wife’s birthday - river cruise Amsterdam, Bruges etc.; wash the cars for the second time this year. December: Christmas again! Also promised myself a little Scotland tour (outside school holidays, of course!), namely Kendal, Newby Bridge, Ambleside, Helensburgh/Luss, Arrochar, Crarae, Lochgilphead, Oban, Glenfinnan/Arisaig/Mallaig, Couple of days on Skye, then Broadford, Achintee, Applecross, Fearnmore, Kinlochewe, Gairloch, Gruinard to Torridon or Ullapool, Elphin, Clashnessie, Drumbeg, Laxford Bridge, Durness , Thurso, John O’Groats, Wick, Lybster, Golspie, Dornoch, Tain, Nairn to Grantown on Spey, Glenlivet, Ballater, Blairgowrie, Glen Clova, Glen Esk, North Berwick, Holy Island, Whitby then home. Life’s hard when you’re retired, innit! Peter p.s to previous posters: shoot the dogs or get them trained; how do you annoy a model railway enthusiast? Tell him you too had a train set when you were a kid. |
