It should be easier to find the root-cause now if it's doing it straight away which is good news. Do you have or know of anyone in your area with a fault code reader? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

New panel filter? Paper or oil?
Have you tried with MAF disconnected? Andy |

If this helps...
If you can make the Oxon pub meet on the 8th Jan http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic25201.html I can bring along my Nanocom and we can check for fault codes and live readings. Appreciate you will probably want it sorted prior to that though... Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Thanks for those replies.
Air filter is a pipercross oil. Got to say I haven't tried it with the maf disconnected but will in the morning. The fuel pump seems the same.... Series I 86" Petrol orig side valve (daily hack) VW Tiguan ( bit bland but very comfy ) Porsche 997.2 790 Bonnie |

Probably a silly idea but have you tried it with the filler cap off?
The tank breather might be blocked. |
