[Wanted] 10P Td5 cylinder head
As it says, need a 10P (don't think the 15P are interchangeable without a lot of fuel pipe faffing about?) cylinder head in good working order.

don't need injectors/cam/top cab framework etc.

I took the head (Which i'd bought a few years back and had sat on the shelf in the garage waiting for a Td5 rebuild, and was assured was AOK Evil or Very Mad ) to be skimmed & pressure tested, as the coolant system kept getting pressurised.

I popped down to the machine shop today, there is a crack between the injector and glowplug hole on cyl #2, and a (major) crack on the valve guide outer bit... the pressure tested it (prior to skimming) and apparently it bubbled like a bubbly thing.

Still, answers my question as to what was up with it.

They did have a 15P head in there that had just been checked and was fine. but I don't think they're interchangeable.

For sure it does.

Ah well, such is life. annoying as I've been offered a kind of swap/PX for a G-W for it.... Big Cry but obviously it would need to be working first Laughing

Hello Jim,

I have one which I took off mine because I was using water. I don't think there is such thing as a good TD5 head even the later ones seem to have problems.

I fitted an AMC head, very good quality and has improved on the known issues but they are not cheap.

If you get a good? Used head I can recommend you send it to spaceseal, we use this at work on some very high performance engine castings when they are porous.

I will eventually clean my old one up seal it and rebuild it and put it up for sale, are you in a rush?

Cheers for the tip Steve.

I'd like to find one in the next week or 2, mainly to get the 90 running again (although I could nail the old head back on just to start it up and drive it about a bit)

Ooh bit steep on price that one. Shocked

Added: I've got a nice CD jukebox here if anyone wants to do a deal.
