It could be this issue which is getting more common. Or the hose could have come off at the turbo.

We had exactly the same in our new Puma at the weekend. Ours was a split high pressure turbo pipe that had been rubbing on the alternator pulley. Apparently its a known fault with the new ones. Luckily ours is under warranty and the guy who came out from Land Rover Assistance said they fit the replacement in a slightly better way to avoid it happening again. I'm afraid that's as technical as I get but hope that helps. 2015 Defender 90 HT Corris Grey - Bowler Stage 2

Would you not perhaps expect an accompanying P1102 Mass Air Flow Sensor In Range But Lower Than Expected and a MIL light perhaps with such a fault dependant on severity of leak of course or does the P0101 override it? Still surprised no MIL light though.

Should have said we had MIL light although a good few miles after the hissing stared and when accelerating up a hill. Only code read was P0101. Now I really must bow out to those with far more knowledge! 2015 Defender 90 HT Corris Grey - Bowler Stage 2

He's got a pipe coming from the local dealers, who can't get one until Friday!
You'd have though with this pipe being such a problem, they'd have them stacked on the shelves. |

The problem is is that the new pipe is also a problem and I bet they can't meet build demand due to the failures of them. They have made the pipe a second time and its worse than the first hehe.
