Since last night we have massive rains here, so did nothing with the Defender today. Just left it under car port cover all day, and it may stay there a little longer if this continues.

Get out there in the rain! What a shame to leave a lovely defender like that covered up! Cheers, David

David, afraid missed my chance. Whistle The tropical storms came and went away again, it's going to be sunny and dry again today. Thumbs Up
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Even better then! Nothing like driving your defender to put a smile on your face!

Hope I get mine back soon, love seeing yours on here - really is lovely! Cheers, David

Decided to do a cambelt change and some other general work around the engine bay before the weather finally turns as I want to avoid having to do too much work on it in the cold and wet. The cambelt is not due to be changed for another 14k miles but as I am doing some other bits it was an easy job to do at the same time and I think it does no harm to change a cambelt a bit early.

Very glad I did decide to do it, when I opened up the timing sae there was a half shredded belt! The old style pulley seems ti have chewed one side of the belt away. No I just need to clean up all the mess in there and refit new pulleys and belt and hopefully not have this issue again before its next scheduled change.

In about 50 miles time re-tighten those spacers up again and then again in a couple hundred miles. They can undo, although not come undone.

Oh and remember now you have spacers on you can adjust your steering stops to improve your steering lock Thumbs Up
