Hmm, as I feared. However I've only really noticed it lately. I have told Mrs 110SEB it's her fault for not always waiting for the glow plug light to go out before starting the engine.
What damage would that actually cause other than wasted fuel? |

Hey gang,
I had an old mercedes 300D that would smoke black started up or not, and the old German mechanic ( boy was he a work of art) would always say, all smoke is fine, as long as it isn't oily looking...blue oily looking... but I wonder now, since we are all dealing with Euro 4 engines, if the changes in diesel as well as the advancement in technology gives us the blue- ish smoke and that it really isn't much to worry about. Has anyone compared it to the t4's in the transit vans? I have some here at school that I will ask the drivers tomorrow to see if they smoke as much as what we get. Anyone know a taxi driver to ask? 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately) IN the hunt for another Puma for the wifey! 2008 Kia Sorento LX 😁 2.5crdi |

Mine does it - 09 model with 2500 miles on it. Always has. In for a service next week so will mention it, but I'd always assumed this is normal....?

Stealers suggested to SWMBO that it was doing it because she does small journeys. From what I can see, an assumption based on the fact that (a) she is a woman, and (b) we have a little one. She put him right as it rarely does less than 25 miles in one go.
They're going to contact LR and a few other LR mechanics to see what they think. You know what's going to come back, don't you... They all do it, it's normal! |

Hi 110SEB, have you ever heard a cause from the stealers after they contacted JLR?
