Brake vacuum pump....repair?
Anyone had any luck trying to repair the Td5 vauum pump? mine seems to be giving a similar amount of "suck" compared to another td5 parked along side, but when you start the engine with your foot on the brake pedal, it doesn't move down.

I've swapped the servo for a working one (took it off of another vehicle) and still the same (and refitted the original servo from my 110 onto the other vehicle, and it's working a treat)

Or anyone got an old duff Td5 alternator with a good pump on it?

Have you checked all the pipe work for chaffing, splits or kinks? We have a few problems on the vans at work!

Yeah, that was the first thing I did, AOK.

It's giving some suction, but i's quite "noisy", you hear a chuf chuf chuf from the pipe, where my other Td5 is more continous and much quieter.

Also, when I removed the pump from the front of the alternator (as a side note, this is really easy... disconnect the pipes, oil feed and drain, and obviously the vacuum pipe itself, then undo the 4x 10mm bolts, and the pump bit pulls off of the alternator, so no need to disconnect the battery or anything like that) there was some oil in there, about a thimble full drained out. Don't know if some residual leakage is acceptable, or if it shows that the innards of the vac pump are well and truly on their way out.
