So what you are saying is that I can forget everything that about clogged fuel filters, blocked fuel lines, etc as the pre-heating light comes on every time the engine stops?
Would be nice with some eliminations... /Hans |

Your glowplug light comment was posted after my suggestions, but fuel starvation seems less likely.
It is still definitely worth running the earth to the ECU and what does it cost to take the filler cap off, just to rule it out? 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop Now a 2013 110 USW too. |

This morning I tested to connect battery minus (-) direct with ECU earth stud at the bottom of the seat box. I have two studs so I tried both. Engine light still comes on and engine stops. These tests were carried out without fuel filler cap fitted. IMPORTANT The glow plug light does NOT come on when the engine stops. Only the engine light. I could have swarn that the glow plug light came on during all my previous tests. Very odd. Also tried without the cable from battery to ecu stud. And the engine can not be re-started again until the the glow plug light comes on. This takes a couple of minutes. Sorry about the confusion but I was so certain about the glow plug light. /Hans |

The NNW501300 number is the software version, the ECU will have (or should have) either an NNN number (NNN500020 or 000120) or an earlier MSB number. |

Now you got me again. I have two stickers on my ECU. A small one with the NNW501300 plus my chassis No. And a big one with several bar codes plus I/O Number 194574 F4 7940. The chassis No is also on the big sticker. Tried to upload a photo but it did not work for me (error retrieving album data)... /Hans |

If you were to remove the ECU you would find the numbers on a sticker at the back that Diesel Jim mentions.
You can't see it in situ. 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop Now a 2013 110 USW too. |
